It was December of 2014 when the New York Yankees handed out $10,000 to an 18-year old pitcher from the Dominican Republic. Except this then 18-year old stood at 6’8″ and threw a fastball that caught New York’s eye. So that $10,000 would be chump change – a huge bargain.
