NEW YORK WINS 8 – 5 SORRY, JETES This afternoon the New York Yankees took on Derek Jeter’s Miami Marlins at Steinbrenner Field. Luis Severino, who’s pitched well this spring, got the start and earned the victory. The Yankees pushed across some early runs and kept it going throughout. The highlights of the day were a Greg Bird bomb, a Gary Sanchez bomb, a couple of hits from Neil Walker, and a Giancarlo Stanton RBI single. Here’s how everything went down from innings one to nine. After Severino struck out two of the three batters to start the game, the … Continue reading Yankees/Marlins (ST)

NEW YORK WINS 124 – 101 THERE’S GONNA BE A FULL MOON TONIGHT How often do the Yankees lose and the Knicks win on the same day? Not often, I’ll say. But it happened last night in a rare blowout. This one came against the Charlotte Hornets at MSG. The Knicks were clicking on all cylinders throughout all four quarters of the game! Yes, that’s right, there was no second half collapse this time. And I know they’re tanking but I hate losing more than anything so it was nice to see a rare victory come in the hands of … Continue reading Knicks/Hornets

DETROIT WINS 9 – 3 ANOTHER LOSS It has not been a great Spring Training for the New York Yankees. After starting out so hot, they’ve gone to shits. Right now they’re 12-9 (with a tie) and their latest loss came yesterday afternoon at the hands of the Detroit Tigers. Masahiro Tanaka got hammered and so did the relief pitching. The offense wasn’t great either but only a few of the bigger 25-man roster players were in the lineup. Brandon Drury, Greg Bird, and Aaron Hicks were the three starters in their yesterday. They were a combined 2-for-10. It’s mostly … Continue reading Tigers/Yankees (ST)

Tyler Austin Could Be a Valuable Asset for the Yankees in 2018

One thing the New York Yankees didn’t have last season was first base depth. Once Greg Bird went down, it was a shit show at the cold corner. The Yankees tried numerous options over there and rarely did they find success. The Chris Carter experiment failed miserably, they forced a lifetime third baseman in Chase Headley to switch positions, they traded for some guy named Garrett Cooper, they even tried some guy named Ji-Man Choi, and hell, even old man Matt Holliday got in a few games over there. Bottom line, it was awful. It was the Bermuda Triangle, a … Continue reading Tyler Austin Could Be a Valuable Asset for the Yankees in 2018
